Who is Matt Holden?

I’ve always had the travel bug. From the earliest of days in the Boy Scouts going on weekend hikes and camping trips to times with the family exploring the country in the RV, I had always loved it and couldn’t wait for more.

I was born in Maine and grew up in Los Angeles. Outdoor activities were the only things to do back then. If it wasn’t riding bikes, it was hiking on the trails or surfing at the beach or snowboarding on the slopes. I grew up with it all nearby to enjoy, but the two things that always interested me the most were the mountains and the ocean.  I’m an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast as well as a PADI certified master scuba diving specialist.

The ground and underwater landscapes weren’t enough excitement so I took up flying lessons at age 14 to see more from the air. This fascination with travel has always stuck with me. I realized there was more to this wonderful world we lived in and I wanted to see it. I started to venture out and explore more places that the good ‘ole US of A. Traveling overseas, I quickly fell in love with Europe and the Caribbean, particularly Jamaica.

My educational background is in computers and mechanical engineering. While I’ve got many years of corporate experience, I came to the realization early in life that I did not like sitting behind a desk inside an office for hours on end when there was so much of this world to be explored. I figured that I needed to do something about that.

I now run a number of different internet ventures and start-ups. I am a freelance web developer and travel photographer with a focus on internet marketing and SEO. I specialize in building and marketing websites. These skills allow me the freedom to travel while essentially being able to work anywhere in the world.

If you’re interested in learning more about any of my businesses or contracting me for freelance work, feel free to contact me to discuss your needs.

All of my motivation and need to travel and explore can be summed up in one sentence from a Pink Floyd song…

“All you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be.” – Pink Floyd

So, join me as I take you on my travels and share my adventures with you through my photography to all sorts of wonderful places on this beautiful planet.
